About Gujarat Cotton Corporation

A LONG HISTORY DEVELOPING OUR GLOBAL PRESENCE.

With the corporate office located in Gujarat, India, Gujarat Cotton Corporation (GCC) has specialized in trading and exporting quality Indian origin raw cotton since a decade.

GCC started as a local cotton trader in Gujarat but over the years it has became a prominent supplier in textile industries across the globe. Today our cotton portfolio consists of farming operations, ginning, warehousing, and trading. GCC is family-owned and proudly managed by third generation family members.

    GCC handles about 60,000 MT of Indian Origin Raw Cotton every year. Through stable supplying bases, high quality products, extensive market channels, reliable commercial reputation, we have established close relationship with our customer base and numerous cotton enterprises.

    GCC currently trades and exports Indian Origin Raw Cotton to various countries like China, Vietnam, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand, Mauritius, and Turkey.

    GCC appreciates and is involved in various sustainable projects initiated by local NGOs' to facilitate more sustainable cotton programs and connecting the supply chain from farm to garment.

    GCC is a leading exporter of Organic Cotton in India. GCC is a nominated supplier of various International Brands for sustainable cotton like BCI, Organic, REEL, FairTrade and TBC to their supply chain. GCC also works with International Merchants like ECOM, GLENCORE, etc.

A SUSTAINABLE EFFORT


Cotton is globally significant commodity with the highest use of pesticides of all agricultural products and accounts for more than 40% of all textile industry. GCC strives to improve the lives of rural farmers by increasing the productivity and yields of cotton farmers through innovative training and guidance.

Together with Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) and REEL projects, GCC, works throughout the cotton supply chain from farmers to retailers to bring Better CottonĀ into the main stream. Under the Better Cotton Fast Track Fund, GCC is undertaking projects to train nearly 10,000 farmers in Gujarat region. GCC works in close coordination with Cotton Connect, employing in-house experts to train and guide the farmers to produce quality Better Cotton. GCC also procures REEL cotton, a program funded by C&A. Such practice is better for the environment it is grown in, better for the health and prosperity of people who produce it as well as better for the industry's future.

GCC believes that cotton sourced in a responsible way can be extremely beneficial crop for the farmers and their communities. Following this belief, we continue to significantly increase the amount of responsibly sourced cotton, whether that cotton is REEL, Fair-Trade, Organic, TCB, recycled or farmed to BCI standards.
